Wellbeing Matters provides free, confidential psychological support to all Health and Social Care in Berkshire. Their trained staff are ready to listen and offer you the help you need. They provide a range of support including a Wellbeing Line, advice and guidance and support for teams and managers such as through Wellbeing hubs. Find out more or check out further information below about the Wellbeing Line.
We’ve set up a Wellbeing Line for our health and social care colleagues who live and/or work in Berkshire. This, along with our other support information and advice, has been set up in line with national guidance and building on learning from other countries and previous crisis situations.
When you call, you'll be speaking to staff trained in psychology, who are ready to listen and give you wellbeing support and advice. We're here for you.
If you email us or leave us a voice message, we'll get back to you as soon as possible within our opening hours. Or, tell us your preferred contact method and times that you would like a call back.
At the beginning of the call, we'll ask for your name and record some basic details, which will be kept securely. This won't be shared with anyone else internal or external to Berkshire Healthcare.
This confidentiality would only be broken if we believed that you or people around you may be in danger. If that happens, we would always seek to discuss this with you first. You can also choose to be anonymous.
If you have any concerns about this, please speak to the call handler (or contact the confidential National NHS Support Line shown below instead).
If you and our Wellbeing Line team member feel that you need further support after your initial call, we'll work with you to identify the right help for you. We can get you access to our own services, such as Talking Therapies, SHAPE wellbeing coaching, or other mental health care, or signpost you to external support. We'll also follow up with you later to see how you are.
If you can't wait for a callback, you can get in touch with the Samaritans free and confidential support line for NHS and social care staff.
Call: 0800 069 6222 (available 7:00am – 11:00pm, seven days a week)
Or, text FRONTLINE to 85258 for support 24/7 via text from the SHOUT team
If you live or work outside of Berkshire, or if you prefer to be supported by someone outside of Berkshire, we can help. We can advise you on where to get support and refer you. Or you can contact one of our neighbouring services direct:
Always dial 999 in an emergency or, to contact the Police in a non-emergency, use 101.
